I'm all for helping our environment, most people have no idea just how much nature and our environment really means to me. Yet I am also a realist. This little post has nothing to do with the oil industry, that is another subject altogether. We use our vehicles, our electronics, mega amounts of plastic and we have to eat. All the ones who want to shut down any and all means of producing the material we need to supply these things need to learn how to survive as we did in the middle ages. They would not be so adament about things then. We can get the things out of nature that we need without mass destruction. We do hugh studies and spend countless millions of dollars on impact studies, which for the most part is a complete waste. As bad as we may want it there is no way to not leave an imprint on the planet. What many also don't realize is what the rest of nature does to ruin things. Hugh heards and flocks of wild animals destroy vast amounts of nature. I can go into this much furture with examples if need be. My view is let's help nature and the environment as much as humanly possible, but lets get real on the way we look at and do things. I would much rather spend half a million dollars helping those in need than wasting it so someone can watch a patch of 50 dead trees for 1 1/2 years to see if it is ok to cut the things out.
