Here are a few issues with the Montana budget which we must work to get under control. The 2012 Biennium Budget adopted by the 62nd Legislature comes to the grand total of $10.5 Billion dollars. Of this 40.9% is paid for by the Federal Government. As long as this kind of financial BS continues we will be under the thumb of the Federal Government. We must wean ourself from the Federal teet if we are to survive as a state in control of our own destinies.
With this kind of control over us is one reason the Feds are so fast to try and break bad on us here in Montana. We do have the means to get out from under this Federal interference and be self standing. Flying high while the rest of the country goes to hell in a hand basket. This is why the Feds are so had on us over Med. Cannabis, we were interfering in their plans to take over the cannabis industry and promote big pharma production of it. Also with it being legal to grow hemp in Montana which would put us on the path to financial freedom, they don't want us to.
The Feds love the Dems of this state because they want to run things as Washington does and continue to throw good money after bad. They also love our Repubs for supporting super companies and big industry over the good of the public at large. One joint area which effects both parties is to overspend on items and service that we could get for a lower price elsewhere.
In order to break this cycle we must first sharpen our pencil on spending. Then rework all our agencies for more efficient performance and cost. This will include reworking paper work that is required, and combining agencies, eliminating overlapping areas, man power and cost.
